Norris Dam State Park
Plan your next Tennessee vacation and be sure to visit Norris Dam State Park. This 4,038 acre park began in 1933, by TVA and provides plenty of beautiful forested valleys and ridges. Visitors to the park enjoy sparkling streams, wildflower trails and more! Camping is available in two areas of the park with 75 sites and access to bathhouses. Outdoor water recreation for the park includes hiking trails, boating, skiing and fishing with a full service marina. Rental pontoon boats are available, as well as a boat ramp for the general public.
Norris Dam built in the mid-1930s, was the first major project for the Tennessee Valley Authority. The dam is 1,860 feet long and is 265 feet high across the Clinch river. Today, Norris Lake is the largest reservoir on a tributary of the Tennessee River with 33, 840 acres of water surface and 809 miles of shoreline. Visitors can drive up to the overlook and view the panoramic views of Norris Lake!
